Transport Meeting: 6pm Monday 27 May 2013 at Marks Park, Judith Road, Emmarentia

We have been advised that the Transport Surveys have only been conducted for the following suburbs: Melville, Rosebank and Parkhurst. To avoid the meeting running on all night, it is proposed to allocate the following timeslots for each suburb:
18:00 to 18:45 Rosebank
18:45 to 19:30 Melville
19:30 to 20:30 Parkhurst
All stakeholders and members of the public are welcome to attend the whole meeting. The study is NOT JUST ABOUT paid parking, but deals with the transport/traffic issues faced in each suburb.
Councilors, stakeholders and members of the public from other areas are also welcome to attend the meeting to understand the methodology but their areas will not be discussed.
This is the type of study that should have been done BEFORE the current paid parking meeting was foisted on the City in general, and Parkhurst, in particular. Let’s hope that these studies are not just going to be a justification for implementing paid parking in the respective suburbs. I think that traders and members of the public in ALL the affected areas should attend this meeting.
